Welcome to Affordable Beauty! I am Dr. Junith M. Thompson, M.D.. I was born in Haiti, West Indies. Third of seven children. My parents were educators and instilled in us the importance of education. We moved to the US in my last year of junior high school. At the time fluent in French only. I had to learn English rather quickly in my English as a second language (ESL) curriculum classes. By my first year in high school I was proficient enough in English to help other students in (ESL) Homework helpers program. In high school I was motivated to learn and with one of my good friends Maritza who is now a pediatrician in NY City, I always dreamed of a career in medicine.
Providing the Highest Level of Care
After college I attended medical school at the medical college of WI. I decided to do my residency training in NY to be close to family members in order to get help with my first two children, Lydia and Julie who were born in the first two years of medical school. Lydia has a law degree and Julie is a nurse I have two sons, Robert born in my first year of residency training studied journalism at Columbia University in NY City, and Jonathan, college age, born in Kenosha while in private practice. I could not have completed medical school and residency training without the support of primarily my husband Harold and family members.
Junith M Thompson M.D., S.C. and the professionals at Affordable Beauty have been dedicated to the healthcare of women since day one! We have a wonderful staff totally committed to providing the highest level of care in the most compassionate manner.
I began a private solo practice in Kenosha in 1989. I am very glad I settled in Kenosha for the practice. My patients made me feel comfortable and welcomed me with open arms, I recall in the early years of practice when I walked into the exam room of a patient who was pregnant, there with her 5 yr old son. As I went into the room he stated “mom she is chocolate”. I sensed that the mother was feeling really uncomfortable, I replied “I am sweet chocolate”. I was reminded of the innocence of children by his remarks.

We have a wonderful staff totally committed to providing the highest level of care in the most compassionate manner. We strive to achieve that goal. I believe in treating people with respect and dignity like they are the most important person in the world and an extension of our family and truly mean it.
Dr. Junith Thompson graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1984 with a Doctorate Degree. Dr. Thompson started her internship in Internal Medicine in 1984-1985, and then 4 years of residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the New York Medical College, Metropolitan Hospital, New York, NY. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Thompson has been in private practice in Kenosha, WI since 1989. She is married with 4 adult children, fluent in French with limited Spanish. She enjoys vegetarian cooking, traveling, and bargain shopping.
